About ChemGen
ChemGen is a privately held bioscience company specializing in the development and commercialization of innovative feed enzyme products that improve the efficiency of poultry, egg, and meat production. In the 1990s, ChemGen recognized that feed enzyme products would become a major category of feed ingredients, and we focused our research and development efforts on creating novel and useful products. The first ChemGen feed enzyme product was Hemicell®, an enzyme targeted for use in feeds that contain soybean meal. Our family of enzymes continues to expand with several exciting new entries. Enzymes are safe and environmentally friendly. We produce our feed enzyme products using microbial fermentation and they are routinely manufactured according to established product quality specifications. Many poultry, egg and pork producers add ChemGen enzymes to their feeds to help reduce anti-nutritive β-mannans and xylans present in the feed, thereby improving feed efficiency, animal livability, and enabling the animals to better endure disease challenges.
ChemGen pioneered the development of post-pelleting application techniques for the addition of small-volume liquid feed enzyme products to animal feed. We were also the first to provide the industry with a feed assay service, to ensure that the recommended amount of enzyme products are applied to the feed. Many new opportunities are seen for animal producers as they explore the use of ChemGen’s current products and new feed enzymes in the years ahead.
