 Hemicell® is a proprietary and unique β-mannanase enzyme-based feed ingredient recommended for addition to layer diets that contain soybean meal, sunflower meal, and/or other legume meals. These meals contain sufficient amounts of the anti-nutritive substance, β-mannan, which degrade layer performance. Adding Hemicell® leads to the breakdown of β-mannan present in the feed, thereby improving performance. When wheat is also used in the layer feed, Hemicell®-W may be used since it contains both β-mannanase and xylanase, the latter enzyme targeting xylans present in wheat.

Mechanism of Action
In both field tests and controlled layer trials, Hemicell® and Hemicell®-HT significantly improved the following parameters: (i) egg production, (ii) improved early egg weight, (iii) reduced feed conversion, and (iv) improved body weight uniformity.
