Work to support the R&D department by ensuring availability of basic research equipment, cleaning and maintenance. Position Responsibilities
Clean and sterilize glassware, operate and test sterilizers, routine maintenance of steam generator, provide sample preparation for enzyme assays of feed samples, maintain inventory of supplies and miscellaneous other maintenance and support functions for building and department maintenance. Work to support the R&D and the quality control department. Maintain accurate levels of the stockroom inventory. Conduct enzyme measurements as well as various GC, HPLC and protein purification, and other similar duties. Position Responsibilities
Operate robotic assay instrument, run samples on GC, HPLC, perform protein purification and analysis, perform enzyme assays of feed samples, follow Standard Operating Procedures, file assay reports in online database for salesmen and customers, maintain inventory of lab supplies and reagents for enzyme assays. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Familiarity with biochemical analysis and enzyme assay, experience in inventory control, a college degree in a scientific or life science discipline is desirable. Attention to detail is a must with the ability to manage and perform multiple activities in a dynamic environment. Applicants should have a 2 or 4 year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technologies or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience with embedded systems or single board computers will also be helpful. Applicants should enjoy traveling and must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, multiple times per year, occasionally up to 2 weeks per trip.
