Hemicell^® is an animal feed product for monogastric animals containing the enzyme β-Mannanase. Soybean meal contains the anti-nutritive fiber β-Mannan which inhibits complete utilization of feed by hogs. Hemicell^® degrades this fiber andimproves the feed efficiency by 4% to 9%, gain by 2-18%, and can reduce the culling rate in swine herds. Studies have verified this, showing improvements in the fecal digestibility of energy, protein, and fiber, and the ileal digestibility of dry matter, protein, and lysine.
